Don’t Even Think of Packing Away Those Skis
A friend of mine has this theroy about skiing. He claims that tradtional ski enthusiast have it all wrong.
“Everyone thinks ski season starts in December and ends in March, but man, the real ski season is just getting started.”
He’s got a point. In fact, in the Rocky Mountain region, some of the best skiing of the year isn’t even accessible until March and April and it’s not uncommon for us to still be making great turns well into May and June. If you’re one of those people that stops skiing once the lifts stop running then you’ve been cutting your ski season way too short. There are endless turns to be had in the backcountry for many, many weeks to come. Don’t believe me? Check out these powdery turns from a few days ago …
We’re entering into prime ski time and are still offering our guided backcountry ski tours in the Crested Butte area. Stuck in Denver/Boulder and can’t make it to Created Butte? Let us show you around the Berthoud Pass area. In Colorado Springs and only have a day to spare? Join us for a tour on Monarch Pass.
For those of you who want to extend your ski season as long as possible we suggest you check out our ski mountaineering courses being offered in Colorado and Alaska. Ski mountaineering is a sure fire way to milk your ski season well into the summer!
This year, we at CBMG challenge you to redefine the parameters of the traditional ski season. Break the barriers of conventional wisdom and expand your ski season … you’ll thank us.
